Our Sunday worship is approximately an hour long and includes hymns and prayers, music and confession, a Proclamation, a time of giving and a benediction. There are three sections to our worship services as we: Assemble in God’s Name, Listen for God’s Word, and then Respond to God’s Word.

Music is an important part of our worship services and the spirit of the church. During worship, our choir, which is made up of volunteers as well as professional singers, helps lead the congregation in singing together. The music you’ll hear each week is varied, seasonally appropriate, and reflects the diversity of our congregation. Throughout the year, you’ll hear our one-of-a-kind Visser-Rowland pipe organ accompanied by hand bells, instrumentals, and visiting musicians.

Children are always welcome and encouraged to attend services. They may stay for the entire service or children from preschool to fifth grade may join our Church School classes. The pastor will invite them to come forward for the first scripture lesson and are then excused to go to Church School, where they spend about 45 minutes engaged in fun age-appropriate spiritual curriculum activities. Classes are taught by volunteers from our congregation. Children will return to be with their parents for Communion on Communion Sundays and are invited to participate if families wish.

Our nursery also welcomes children from birth to 36 months for all or a portion of the worship service.

You may wear whatever you feel comfortable in for worship at the Fish Church. Some members of the congregation dress up for church and some are dressed more casually. It really doesn’t matter what you wear – what matters is that you feel comfortable.

You do not need to be an Presbyterian to attend a service at the Fish Church. We welcome everyone regardless of their beliefs. Everything you need to know to participate fully will be provided to you in a detailed service bulletin.

If your visit is on the first Sunday of the month, the service will include Communion. Our understanding of the sacrament is that all who trust in Jesus are invited to partake. Children are also invited to participate at whatever age their parents decide. Please feel welcome to participate or refrain as you wish. We serve grape juice and gluten free bread.

Presbyterian worship includes a time for returning to God our tithes and offering. Collections placed in the plate support the ministry and mission of this church and the church across the world. Visitors are welcome but certainly not obligated to contribute.

After worship, we gather for fellowship in the lounge. This is a time to gather and greet friends, old and new. Everyone is welcome. This is a great opportunity to get to know us as you help yourself to something to eat or grab a cup of coffee. There are also many adult education opportunities that occur after worship.
